Professional: Dr. Shah holds a diverse clinical and research background. His work in ophthalmology research inspired him to become an Ophthalmologist. He received his medical degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL, and later completed his residency at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital/One Brooklyn Health System in New York City. He returned to South Florida to complete a prestigious Refractive Surgery Alliance (RSA) fellowship in Cataract and Refractive Surgery at Correct Vision Laser Institute in Fort Lauderdale, FL under the guidance of Dr. Marc Bosem, MD.
He also graduated with a Master of Public Health degree from Harvard University. Following his graduate studies, Dr. Shah was involved in several clinical trials and research, at one point holding a position as the Director of Research. Coming back to Charlotte is a full circle for him, and he first met the love of his life here, and he is very excited to settle down in the area and serve the community.
Special Interest: Dr. Shah is passionate about laser vision correction and providing patients independence from corrective lenses. He is very active in attending national conferences. He is a member of many professional organizations including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Refractive Surgery Alliance, and the American Osteopathic College of Ophthalmology.
Personal: In addition to spending time with his wife and three kids, Dr. Shah enjoys riding his motorcycle, traveling, and watching sports.
